Weaned and other random happenings

Well, I think I've done it folks. Austin is now off the bottle. Yippee! When he hit one year I got him down to two bottles a day. He got one when he woke up and the other right before he went to bed. This last couple of weeks I gradually got him off his morning bottle and tonight he went down without his night bottle. My next challenge is to get him to drink milk. As of right now he drinks juice great out of a sippy but will only have a few swallows if it's milk. It really makes no sense because he drank it great out of his bottle. I guess it doesn't taste the same coming out of a sippy. Go figure!

Now for the random stuff. Today I told Carter that it was time to clip his fingernails and he informed me that while I was doing that he needed to be doing something and ran off to find his phone (one of my old broken cell phones). As I clipped away this is what Carter's saying with the phone up to his ear....

Oh hi..... Yeah...... HaHaHa(fake laughing).....yeah....HaHaHa....Ok, buy.

I was talking to Grandma Tracey. Now I will call Grandpa Kevin.

Oh hi.... Yeah.... HaHaHa....... Did you poop today?......Yeah.....HaHaHa...Ok, buy.

Totally made me laugh. Where does the kid come up with this stuff??

Austin has discovered the garbage in a new way this last week. He used to only pull stuff out of it but now he puts stuff in. Yesterday he found a string and came over to me and said "ku-ku". He then proceeded over to the kitchen cupboard, opened it up and put the string in the garbage. I chuckled, and told him good job. Later on I discovered 3 toys in the garbage as well. Sometimes he gets it right and sometimes he doesn't. I think putting things in the garbage is his new thing because he did it again tonight with the cover off the book I'm reading.

Last thing. Tonight Carter was a crab. He would only respond to "Crab" or "Crab Carter". All through dinner we had to ask Crab carter what he wanted to drink. And tell Crab Carter to eat his food. And tell Crab Carter to go get washed up. If ever we called him Carter He informed us, "I'm not Carter, I'm just Crab Carter." Every thing's an adventure with kids!!

**Sorry for the lack of pictures. We're experiencing some internet difficulties. For some reason the internet won't work on the computer that has all of our pictures on it. Hopefully soon I'll get it worked out.

How cute! I love Crab Carter. That's adorable. Oh and when I read 'ku-ku' I could hear Austin's voice saying it. Your boys are so cute.

Way to go on the weaning. Maybe I shouldn't try too hard to get Calder to take a bottle. We're 1/2 way there anyway. He takes a sippy pretty well. Hmm... something to consider for sure. What do you think?

Lucas was that same way about milk in a bottle. Once it was in a sippy cup he did not want it. I thought it was weird, but maybe most kids go through that in the transition. I just kept giving him milk and eventually he just started drinking it. Good Luck!!

Too funny :) I can't wait to meet your little guys! Thanks for the carrot suggestion! Kinsley gnawed on it all day. It definitely helped. Now if only I could find something to help her sleep all night...
